Connecting a proxy

A proxy gives a profile its own IP address. Without one, every profile goes online from your IP and sites can tell one person is using all the accounts.

Supported proxies

• HTTP / HTTPS — the most common option.
• SOCKS5 — with or without login and password.

Accovod works with any provider: residential, mobile (4G/5G) and datacenter proxies.

Entering a proxy

In the profile form, under Proxy:

1. Pick the type — HTTP or SOCKS5.

2. Paste the address in one of these formats:

   host:port
   host:port:login:password

   Paste a line with login and password and they move into the Login and Password fields automatically.

3. Click the check mark to check the proxy.

4. Save the profile.

host is an IP (203.0.113.10) or a domain (gate.provider.com).

When a proxy goes down

All of a profile’s traffic goes through its proxy only. If the proxy stops responding, pages simply don’t load — Accovod does not fall back to your real IP. That keeps the account from showing up at an unfamiliar address.

What to do:

• check the proxy with the check mark in the form — the answer says what’s wrong;
• make sure your plan with the provider hasn’t run out, and that your IP is whitelisted if the provider authorizes by IP;
• after changing the proxy, save the profile and reload the page. On macOS, if the page still hangs, right-click the reload button → Recreate.

Mobile proxies with IP rotation

Mobile proxies change IP on a timer or through the provider’s rotation link. Open the link in any browser or on the provider’s dashboard; the new IP is used on the next request. If a page hangs, reload the tab.

Good habits

• One account, one proxy. A shared IP links accounts together.
• Proxy country = account country. An account registered in the US is best opened from a US IP.
• Language and timezone to match. The proxy check suggests the timezone. See Proxy check.
